We are excited to announce the launch of our ThreatModeler Certified Practitioner Program – Introduction to Threat Modeling partnering with New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering. Threat modeling is a rapidly growing requirement for many industries and we are proud to pioneer an initiative aimed to empower Security Practitioners, Architects, Developers, and all stakeholders involved in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with cutting-edge skills.
The ThreatModeler Certified Practitioner Program – Introduction to Threat Modeling is designed to equip NYU students with practical insights into threat modeling methodologies and how to produce complete threat models for applications across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
The program combines theoretical concepts with hands-on exercises, enabling students to learn about:
- Various Threat Modeling Methodologies
- Diagramming Techniques
- Understanding the Attacker’s Perspective
- Nesting Strategies
- Solving Business Problems through Threat Modeling
As part of this program, NYU Tandon students will have the opportunity to become certified ThreatModeler practitioners on the ThreatModeler platform. By completing the entire course, students will earn a NYU Cybersecurity Skills Badge in Introduction to Threat Modeling.
NYU Tandon School of Engineering stands as a global leader of education and academic excellence with world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. Digital Learning at NYU Tandon provides non-traditional learning opportunities in engineering and technology through innovative degree, non-degree, and executive programs in flexible online and hybrid formats. One such program, NYU Cyber Fellows is a fully online cybersecurity master’s degree program designed to address the acute shortage of highly trained, underrepresented technical professionals in the United States. The program is currently offering 75% tuition scholarships for all admitted students. By joining forces with NYU Tandon, ThreatModeler aims to address the shortcomings of data flow diagrams, bringing threat modeling capabilities in-house and making them scaleable.
“This innovative program, in collaboration with NYU Tandon, empowers individuals from all backgrounds to grasp the fundamentals of threat modeling, ultimately contributing to a more secure digital future,” ThreatModeler CEO, Archie Agarwal.
“The importance of threat modeling is of paramount importance to any organization in order to find the optimal mitigation strategy. The ThreatModeler is an industry leading platform that not only models threats but helps Cybersecurity professionals develop a threat modeling mindset.” Abhijit Chitnis, Director, MS Cybersecurity Program, NYU Tandon School of Engineering
